    First Parlor Haircut
This is Efren, the most beautiful queen in the world. Everytime I go to see a beautician, I always ask him to do the job for me. Way back in 1989, Chana, the fairy godmother, would always cut my hair. Then one day he cut my hair really short, and I was very disappointed. He told me he didn’t hear me good, when I told him how I wanted my hair to be styled; so I got disappointed, and I never asked for his services again. He-he…chika…. Maria and Bianca had their first haircut in a beauty parlor, while we were in the Philippines. I didn’t think to consider their first professional haircut ...

    Bianca’s 4th Birthday
My husband and I had a busy day today. He is off from work, so he helped me with my errands. Today is my daughter’s 4th birthday. First thing in the morning, we dropped off Maria and Bianca at their schools. Then we went to pick up the cake, and we bought a present for Bianca. She had a simple birthday celebration at her school. I brought a sort-of-cake made of cup cakes and juices only for her classmates. Bianca’s birthday cake theme was the Yo Gabba Gabba. She is a huge fan of this hilarious television show. She watches it all, over and over, on netflix. She was with me when I ordered he...

    Bianca’s Amazing Progress
All children advance through the stages of their development and accomplish things at different ages. I introduced my eldest daughter Maria to the alphabet when she turned two, then she started reading about four months later. I don’t know how she did it, but she really began to read sentences. With my second child, Bianca, I did the same thing, but she wasn’t as enthusiastic as her big sister. Everytime, when we would start our reading session, she showed very little interests. She had a low tolerance for doing things other than what she wanted to do, and she still does. She would o...

    First Day of Pre-K
Yesterday was the first day of school and Bianca started pre-kindergarten. She is going to be at school every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, for 3.5 hours, during the mornings. I think Bianca likes having more children in her class this year and she is very excited. There were not as many in her 3-year-old class last year. There were only nine children and all of them were girls. This time there are boys and girls, for a total of 19 children in the class. I’m sure this is more challenging for Bianca, but she still loves to go to school. I have a tradition of taking a few pictures to show th...

    Pre-K Open House
After a long summer vacation in the Philippines, Bianca has been very excited about to going back to school. Yesterday her school had an Open House, for parents and the students, to see their classroom and meet their teachers. There were some papers that we had to fill out and sign, but I let my husband do that. If parents have a desire to participate and help the teachers for parties and other preparations they have to sign up for it, but my husband did not sign my name on the list, because he felt it was my responsibility to decide what I would want to participate in. Anyway, I will ask ...
