    Bianca’s Amazing Progress
All children advance through the stages of their development and accomplish things at different ages. I introduced my eldest daughter Maria to the alphabet when she turned two, then she started reading about four months later. I don’t know how she did it, but she really began to read sentences. With my second child, Bianca, I did the same thing, but she wasn’t as enthusiastic as her big sister. Everytime, when we would start our reading session, she showed very little interests. She had a low tolerance for doing things other than what she wanted to do, and she still does. She would o...

    First Day of Pre-K
Yesterday was the first day of school and Bianca started pre-kindergarten. She is going to be at school every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, for 3.5 hours, during the mornings. I think Bianca likes having more children in her class this year and she is very excited. There were not as many in her 3-year-old class last year. There were only nine children and all of them were girls. This time there are boys and girls, for a total of 19 children in the class. Pre-K Open House
After a long summer vacation in the Philippines, Bianca has been very excited about to going back to school. Yesterday her school had an Open House, for parents and the students, to see their classroom and meet their teachers. There were some papers that we had to fill out and sign, but I let my husband do that. If parents have a desire to participate and help the teachers for parties and other preparations they have to sign up for it, but my husband did not sign my name on the list, because he felt it was my responsibility to decide what I would want to participate in. Anyway, I will ask ...

    Bianca’s Pre-Birthday
The school permits families to bring cupcakes and other treats for their classmates to celebrate your child’s birthday. Today Bianca had a pre-birthday celebration at her school. I bought ten cupcakes, chips, juice and favor bags with goodies for her classmates. My husband and I had served snacks early. Children are very easy to please. ...

    Learning About Colors
For the past two weeks Bianca and her classmates have been learning about colors. Each week their teacher presents a new theme color. The theme for this week is blue. The teacher has asked parents, if they can, to dress their children to match the assigned color theme. All the parents do their best to be cooperative. Every time I take Bianca to the school, I see her classmates all wearing the same color of clothes. They all look so cute and adorable. Today I found out there are only nine (9) students in the class. Guess what, all of them are girls! I can see my daughter is very happy and enjo...
