There are three signs of labor, these include bloody show, water breaking and regular contractions. The contractions become more frequent and closer together, as the delivery of the baby is near. By the time the contractions reach 5 minutes apart, you need to get ready to go to the hospital. But, if the water breaks, you need to go to the hospital, no matter how far apart the contractions are!
