The Cleveland public library sent invitations to Maria’s school, this invitation was for all children for their first visit to a library; with this they sponsored an event which they called a Library Bear Picnic Party. For this, they created many activities inside the library: storytelling, a puppet show, painting, scrap, giveaways and more. She had a lot of fun, especially, when someone performed during the puppet show as a bear.

Although Maria is only 4 years old, I am and have been training her to like and love to read books. One of these days, we will go to the library to have her get her first library ID card.

The following pictures were taken during the Library Bear Picnic Party.

borrow books on a weekly basis so that Maria will get used to reading daily.

Hi Jo, thank you for the visit. I’ll catch you up later. I’ve been so busy.

As long as she sees books that is interesting for her, she’ll be inspired to read, manay. Ganyan ako when I was still a kid. I keep seeing books lying around the house and I’d pick one up and read it. Ayun, nakasanayan ko na and I learned to love it.

Nakakatuwa naman yang public library dyan. Sana we have the same here in the Phils. Dito kasi when you go to a public library, chances are panahon pa ng Hapon yung mga books sa loob. Or like sa National Library, halos ayaw kang pahawakin ng mga libro hehehe

May occasion manay kaya maraming activities. Pero everyday, they have story telling for kids. There is a section room for toddlers like Bianca’s age. They can learn and play like puzzle and other stuff suitable for toddlers.

About Maria, she can read long stories now at grade 2 to 3 level na. I am so proud of her talaga. Sana magiging bookish sya manay. Most people who loves books ay matalino kase.
