Kindergarten Immunization Requirements

About a month ago, my daughter Maria had her booster shots and other immunizations for preparation to enter kindergarten. She had her vision, hearing and blood screening tests too. She already had a hearing test the day she was born, but I don’t know why they did it again; it must be because they want to know that she will be able to hear the teacher. I also have heard that some schools will require this screening annually for each student from kindergarten to the 8th grade.

One the same day, just before her scheduled appointment, there was a career day at her pre-K school. She said, she wants to be a doctor, when she grows up, so we had purchased for her a doctor costume. She was very excited and likes to wear her doctor costume. My husband let her wear her costume while she had her shots. The physician assistant and her pediatrician kept praising her. Her mind was very busy, however she wasn’t afraid of the shots. Whew! She had 5 shots in one visit. She didn’t cry at all. She said, “I will be 5 years old and I am a big girl and I am brave.”

Registration and orientation for Kindergarten will be this coming May 7th. She is ready and excited for Kindergarten. I am excited too.

Hehehehe…

About sa shots ni Maria, ning hilak sya atong pagtusok sa dagum sa iyang finger for blood test kay nakakita man sya sa dagum pero katong 5 shots, wala jud ning hilak. wala gani nakabantay nga nahuman na diay og toslok. Wala nako sya gipakita sa dagum og nag cge kog estorya sa iya about activities nila sa school.

And speaking of shots, I have to check Hazel’s pala. Di pa sya complete hehe
