Yesterday, all of us went to a movie in the theater. We watched Avatar. It was the first time for my children in a theater movie. Maria’s movie ticket was $6.50, and Bianca’s ticket was free, since children under the age of three years old are free of charge.

I didn’t enjoy the movie, because I had to chase Bianca inside the theater. But she enjoyed going up and down the stairs, and in between the rows of seats, and she even was behind the seats along the back wall; she was just the right size to move freely and quickly between the wall and the back of the seats. Fortunately, aside from the four of us there were only two other people there, a father and his daughter. I understand why Bianca did not enjoy the movie; it was because she is too young for Avatar, as it was not appropriate for her age. It would not have bothered me if she would have fallen asleep in my arms, but every time I would hold her in my arms, she would get restless and had to get away. So, I took Bianca, and both of us went to the lobby for about ten minutes. I was about to go home and leave Maria and hubby at the theater, but I didn’t. We went back in for a little while, but had to go back out for popcorn, and that calmed her down for a little while, but it was soon that she started running around again.

Definitely, we won’t be going to the theater again, for a good while, maybe not until Bianca turns five.

At that time, she was also ready to use the commode, but she was too small; most of the time she was using the potty and sometimes commode with assistance. Now she is mostly uses the commode, but I am afraid she will fall in and get stuck if I am not with her. We still help her to get upon the commode, but she can sit there by herself now. I think she would do better if I use the potty seat on the commode.

Now, I will continue the commode training; because one of the requirements for her to go to the pre-k program is that she must be able to use the toilet by herself.

Bianca has been wearing a diaper when she is asleep and when we are out, to prevent accidents from becoming a problem. It has been 3 weeks now, and her diaper is always dry in the morning when she awakes, but I am not sure when to stop using the diaper at when she is sleeping.

I forgot to mention, we moved into our house about a month ago. Our living room, kitchen and other bedrooms are crying for attention. We don’t have all the furniture that we need yet, but we will buy it a little at a time. So far, my children have the nicest rooms in the house.

Yesterday, the home security man came to our house to update and activate the alarm system. For me, I don’t really care for these devices, since most of the time I am home. Our monthly expenses are different compared to when we rented the apartment. This time our budget is higher and tighter, but it’s manageable. If I can, I have to save and try to conserve in every way.

My husband has to maintain insurance on the house to meet the requirements of the mortgage; also it helps to protect us in the event that the house receives any damage so that we will not have to pay for the loss. The insurance advisor told my husband to make sure that the alarm system is monitored 24hrs/day for security and fire; this will help to keep the insurance premiums from increasing a lot.

This entry may sound gross to you but I found it funny.

I have seen children from ages 2 to 5 years old on the TV shows about funny home videos. They were picking their noses and eating their boogers. I saw my children picking their noses as well, and I pick my nose, sometimes, especially if the air is dry. When I was in high school, I liked to play dry booger, but if it’s wet or slimy, I put it under my desk or somewhere else. I am sure everyone has done that, but eating the booger is just so gross, nasty and disgusting. Perhaps, this is a quick snack for those who do it, before their meal.

Both of my children pick their noses, but I have always told them to stop, because it’s dirty. I haven’t seen my daughter Maria doing it for a long time, but Bianca does lately. She is always digging in her nose and eats the booger. Yuck!!!

A few days ago while I was playing with them in bed, Bianca did it again, but I didn’t fuss. I was observing what she was doing after she picked her nose. She turned her back to me, so that I couldn’t see her, and then she continued. But my eyes are very sneaky; I still saw her licking her fingers with a slurping sound. Yuck!!! Then I turned my back to check Maria, to see what she was up to. And to my surprise, I didn’t expect what I saw; she covered herself with a blanket, and started picking her nose and eating her booger as well. That is so gross! Yuck!!! Somehow, I have got to find a way to make them stop!

Last night, I didn’t sleep much, because my daughter, Maria, started throwing up. And she did that again for a total of about five times. This morning, whatever foods and liquids she put in her stomach kept coming back up. The vomiting continued, and there were messes everywhere she got sick for the entire day. An adult in this situation is manageable, but my daughter is only four years old. She could not handle going to the bathroom, when she felt like throwing up. She was just too weak, so she threw up in the bed three times, and three new blankets were replaced. She also threw up on my back, so I took a shower at around two o’clock in the morning.

This afternoon she went upstairs in her room, and she threw up again. I was worried, because the floor is carpeted. Good heavens, she threw up on the bathroom floor! It was a big time puke! So, I cleaned up her mess with toilet paper. After a few minutes the toilet clogged up, because I threw a lot of toilet papers in all at once. My husband did the plumbing job, he cleared the clogged toilet fast.

Anyway, we took Maria to her Pediatrician. The physician assistant gave her the medication phenergan to help prevent the nausea and vomiting. She also suggested giving her plenty of liquid such as Gatorade and water. She said there are few children that had the same problem as my daughter. Some children were sick with the same thing for as long as five days, and some children were sick for less time.

Tonight, she vomited again, but she did not do it in the bed. What a day!

Today is Saturday, January 23, 2010. We started moving our stuff last week, and we are almost done packing; since we have moved a few miles away, we have been moving a little at a time as we make all the necessary changes. Our apartment is almost empty, and by now it looks almost as good as new. The reason why we have not made the final move to our house is, because we don’t have an internet connection there yet. The representative for At&T had scheduled to connect our internet next week, but since it was done online, some complications arose they were not as efficient as they should have been. I don’t know why it takes a week for them to hook it up but it doesn’t matter. Our apartment rent is paid up until the 31st, so we still have plenty of time.

Well, hubby and I are not superstitious persons, so we didn’t follow the home superstitious belief. I can’t remember what my husband brought first to our house. What really matters is that we can move all of our things to our house. Moving out and moving into a new place is very tiring. I think loading is much easier than unloading. I have too much stuff to unload and organize. I know it will take a little longer, but I’ll take it a little at a time.

The inspector gave us suggestions about any of the minor issues. The house was built in 2006, and I can tell the first owner preserved the house well.

I brought the kids with us, while the inspection was being done. I was thinking that the house inspection would be over quickly, but it took more than 2 hours. Maria and Bianca were never bored, because they kept running and going up the stairs.

Here are the photos of the house.

I have tons of updates, but they are all in short notes. From October to December 2009, I now have accumulated 22 pending updates; but the other day, I started 3 entries, leaving me with 19 topics to write. So, there will be more updates on the upcoming days. It’s hard to keep up, but I will try my best.

Blogging, nowadays, has become completely different than before. My online business keeps me busy, so I don’t have much time to blog hop with my friends. There are only few blogs that I visit occasionally, and I only have time to leave a few comments. Sometimes, it takes time for me to read their updates, especially long ones; so, I just read their blog without leaving a comment. I am sorry about that, but I have too much to do sometimes, I hope you understand.

What keeps me going to update my blog? Well, it’s my children, family and friends in the Philippines. If I write only one entry, everyone can read and know about my children’s update. That means, I don’t tell the same story in each of them.

It’s nice to look back about my children’s milestones and other things too.

This photo was taken about a month ago when we were in Virginia with my in-laws for Thanksgiving. In the Tennessee city, where we live, we do not get much snow. Since I arrived here in 2004, there has been only three times that it has snowed; there is never any accumulation of more than about ½ inch, and the snow always melts very soon afterwards. Anyway, while we were in Virginia for Thanksgiving holiday, I was hoping it would snow, so that my children would be able to see it. Yes, it did snow, but it was not a heavy snow, we had only about 1 inch of snow which melted the same day.

When Maria and Bianca got up late in the morning, the snow had already started to melt away. They were sad and kept saying “where the snow goes mom?” I think the photo looks so dreamy.

I have some good news everyone. Last week, my husband applied for house loan, and on the same day, the loan application was approved. This was necessary to make an offer on a house that we had looked at. Today, the real estate agent called to let us know that the most recent offer has been accepted by the seller. So, after one week of price negotiations, via the real estate agent, between my husband and the seller, there is finally an agreed upon price. Tomorrow there will be a home inspection.

The house was built in 2006. It’s a modern house with 3 bedrooms, 2 full baths and 1/2 bath and 2 car garage. It has carpet, hardwood and ceramic tile flooring. My favorite part is that, the master bedroom is on main level with a back deck. I am so excited and can’t wait to move in.

The photo attached is what the house looks like. I got it from the realtor’s website. I will share more photos on my next update.

Now we have mortgage!
