First Parlor Haircut

This is Efren, the most beautiful queen in the world. Everytime I go to see a beautician, I always ask him to do the job for me. Way back in 1989, Chana, the fairy godmother, would always cut my hair. Then one day he cut my hair really short, and I was very disappointed. He told me he didn’t hear me good, when I told him how I wanted my hair to be styled; so I got disappointed, and I never asked for his services again. He-he…chika….

Maria and Bianca had their first haircut in a beauty parlor, while we were in the Philippines. I didn’t think to consider their first professional haircut as a milestone, because I started trimming their hair when they were little. It’s amazing that the both of them were remarkably well-behaved, while Efren cuts their hair, despite they were more difficult when I would do it. That is the reason why I always cut Bianca’s bangs very short, she would never hold still for me.

I like to see their hair long, but my daughter Maria wanted her hair to be short. She was not happy with her long hair, so I agreed with her for a haircut.

Maria’s 6th Birthday

This is a past due update of my daughter’s birthday. Lately, I was very active on Facebook, but without thinking I have left behind my blog. It is convenient for me to update and post pictures there, because most of my families are in my circle. The only thing that I keep coming back blogging about is my children. Without them, I don’t have a reason to brag and blog about them. Somehow, some day, my children will appreciate it when they read their milestones.

Maria had turned 6th years old last May. We are far from our families, but we celebrated her birthday with just my husband, Bianca and I. I didn’t cook, but I bought some foods from KFC and Chinese Buffet, and the cake came from Walmart. All of us had a great time, but I’m the one who was stressed out from taking our family pictures. As usual my girls weren’t cooperating well. I wanted to have a formal picture for at least one, but either one or the other was not cooperative at the same time. So, we ended up with a wacky photo shoot. I think it turned out good too. This is our pictures.

First Visit to the Dentist

Dentophobia or fear of the dentist is very common among children. Even I am still scared about going to the dentist, because when I was young I had a horrible experience. During a time I had a procedure for teeth extraction, and it was unbearable for me too. Growing up we sometimes waited until the teeth became loose. Well, it was a good thing that we had a dentist in my family; he was none other than my father. No he was not a professional dentist, but he would extract our teeth when it needed to be done. He had extracted some of my teeth with the use of thread. Whew! That was very painful, and it seemed like torture at the time.

Yesterday my daughter Maria had her first dental visit. At first she was scared, and she told me that she would die. The Dental office is designed for pediatric dentistry, and there is a jungle theme throughout the office. There are televisions everywhere, and especially hanging above the ceiling at each patient table.

Maria had her teeth cleaned, and so far there was no tooth decay or cavities. She had dental x-rays taken after that, and then she was scheduled for a visit to extract two teeth next week.

Bianca’s 4th Birthday

My husband and I had a busy day today. He is off from work, so he helped me with my errands. Today is my daughter’s 4th birthday. First thing in the morning, we dropped off Maria and Bianca at their schools. Then we went to pick up the cake, and we bought a present for Bianca. She had a simple birthday celebration at her school. I brought a sort-of-cake made of cup cakes and juices only for her classmates.

Bianca’s birthday cake theme was the Yo Gabba Gabba. She is a huge fan of this hilarious television show. She watches it all, over and over, on netflix. She was with me when I ordered her cake. While we were in the bakeshop, I showed her 4 beautiful and girly children’s cakes; but when she saw the Yo Gabba Gabba character, she screamed because she wanted it. Her first choice was the My Little Pony character; but after she saw the YGG cake, she never had any doubts or any problems making up her mind.

We didn’t go out to eat, but we enjoyed eating her cake. This time, I didn’t have a hard time for taking family pictures, because I had prepared it the day before her birthday.

First Permanent Tooth

It’s another milestone for my 6 year old daughter Maria. Today, her first permanent tooth came out. It all did happened so fast! As I remember, I checked her teeth about two weeks ago, but there was no new tooth. Today, it’s already there, at her lower incisors, behind her temporary teeth. I didn’t expect her tooth would come out like that, especially since her teeth are not loose yet. So that means it could happen without waiting for loose teeth.

My husband arranged for a dental appointment for her tomorrow. So let us see how it goes. Maria told me this morning that she is going to die if she goes to the dentist.
