Frustrated Without my CameraWhile I was in the Philippines, I didn’t enjoy my interest in my favorite hobby photography. I attended our annual Fellowship of the Oro Photographic Society (OPS), but I went home early. I don’t know why, but it seemed different than when I first joined it. There are few of my friendly online acquaintances that share my interest in photography, and I would to like meet them some day if possible. While in CDO, I didn’t feel like going out with friends either. I don’t know what was wrong with me. I think my monthly syndrome occurred and it hit me really bad. He-he… But, I am su...

Bianca’s Amazing ProgressAll children advance through the stages of their development and accomplish things at different ages. I introduced my eldest daughter Maria to the alphabet when she turned two, then she started reading about four months later. I don’t know how she did it, but she really began to read sentences. With my second child, Bianca, I did the same thing, but she wasn’t as enthusiastic as her big sister. Everytime, when we would start our reading session, she showed very little interests. She had a low tolerance for doing things other than what she wanted to do, and she still does. She would o...

Little House in the Big WoodsWe have the complete series of books by Laura Ingalls Wilder. My husband got the books, for Maria, while were in Virginia. He had purchased the books, and he thought that the books would be a great book for Maria to start reading before she started first grade. While we were in the Philippines, Maria started reading the first book in the series “Little House in the Big Woods”, and she finished it about a week ago. There are 257 pages and plenty of vocabulary words. The reading level of this book is for 4th grade to 5th grade. This book is fascinating and very interesting reading material...

Vacation in the Philippines EndedMy life is back to a normal routine. My vacation in the Philippines ended when I left there on the 27th of July, and my flight ended as I returned home to the USA on July 28. It has now been two weeks since my children and I arrived home from an eight week vacation. My situation there was very overwhelming, but I had a lot help; I hired an all around baby sitter that cooked and washed our clothes. My sisters were always around me too. If I wanted to go to the city, someone would watch over my children. Cooking isn’t easy for me, but I am obliged to cook for my family. Here are some photos t...

First Day of Pre-KYesterday was the first day of school and Bianca started pre-kindergarten. She is going to be at school every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, for 3.5 hours, during the mornings. I think Bianca likes having more children in her class this year and she is very excited. There were not as many in her 3-year-old class last year. There were only nine children and all of them were girls. This time there are boys and girls, for a total of 19 children in the class. I’m sure this is more challenging for Bianca, but she still loves to go to school. I have a tradition of taking a few pictures to show th...
